Review of Gangs of New York (2002) by Allie L — 22 May 2013
One of the best movies ever made. Martin Scorsese really, really knows how to make a movie. Daniel Day Lewis is one of the most interesting characters I have ever seen in a movie, and he gives one of the best performances in a very, very long time.
He should have won the Oscar for his performance. Leonardo Dicaprio is also very good in this movie, and I actually didn't mind Cameron Diaz. The last shot is one of my favorites ever; it is incredibly haunting and brings a tear to my eye every time I watch it.
