Review of Futuro Beach (2014) by Dani P — 18 May 2014
Performances are great, soundtrack is catchy and I really thought it was an interesting way to film a story, focusing on scenes with few dialogues and most expressions from the actors. The script is very promissing too, about a man who leaves his family behind and goes to Berlin to stay with a man he met after a tragic accident at Praia do Futuro.
On the other hand, this way of filming, which remined me a lot of Terrence Malick's "To The Wonder", bothered me a lot and it never connected me with the story. To be honest, this film left a huge empty space in my head because I couldn't understand very well what happended to the characters.
In the end, I had nothing to reflect about. In other words, it's as if the script wasn't very well developed on screen. It's a shame.
