Review of Funny Ha Ha (2003) by Tibor B — 18 Feb 2008
The people in the movie unfold and grow as realistically as people you just met and are spending the weekend hanging out with would. As in the real world, there are no archetypes, just people. And they're fun to be around for the most part.
And realistic and mundane don't automatically equal a boring, uneventful movie (although it does pretty often) in indie movie world. Infact, the smallness of the story makes it all the more gripping.
A few times I was left cringing in a curb your enthusiasm sort of way. Unique and totally SLACKER-esque, I really dug this.
