Review of From Russia with Love (1963) by Michael M — 18 Mar 2013
I can imagine this movie being a lot cooler if I saw it for the first time in 1964, but even in 2013 it's still pretty solid. Featuring all the elements that have now become classic Bond, it really sets the precendent for what a good Bond movie should be.
Connery is classic here as well and I now understand where a lot of the Dr. Evil character traits came from in Austin Powers....Rosa Klebb is obviously the basis of the Frau Farbissina character. The one thing I never understood was why no nudity? I mean James Bond is the biggest pussy slayer in the land, yet we never see any true nudity from his conquests.
Shame, but still this movie is good.
