Review of The Thief of Bagdad (1940) by A L — 11 Jun 2012
Yeah yeah yeah, the special effects were revolutionary and it has its charms. But the Thief of Bagdad is a very dysfunctional experience. It struggles story-wise with some big plot holes, it centers around characters we don't like (Achmad and Princess to be specific, instead of the great Abu), and other than the period in which the genie is around, it lacks any true magic.
