Review of Foxcatcher (2014) by Matt H — 01 Apr 2015
What a strange and challenging "mainstream" film. What a great three lead film this is, all three give top performances. Carell is truly creepy, Tatum gives a lot of depth to character that truthfully there doesn't seem to be a whole lot to, and Ruffalo is the rock of normalcy (and sanity) for the audience.
I love how it starts out as a (mostly) normal sports biopic, and then creeps darker and odder. I feel this one will hold up well over the years.
