Review of Foxcatcher (2014) by David L — 01 Apr 2015
Foxcatcher is very well acted and well made, but it is too slow and standard with no sequence or plot point that particularly stands out. Channing Tatum gives probably his best performance, Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo are also great and it is definitely a well crafted film with great makeup, but it is too slow and uneventful plus there is literally nothing special here that is worth the praise despite the acting.
But the biggest problem is that this real life story is not particularly interesting and that the approach is too emotionally distant leaving you not caring for the characters and that is why this movie is in the end a very overrated and pretty uninspired flick.
