Review of Forbidden Planet (1956) by Gavin M — 02 Jun 2008
Classic 50s sci-fi thriller that went to influence many subsequent films. Intelligent, thoughtful story, combined with fantastic other-worldly atmosphere make this a cinematic milestone. Still impressive SFX and set designs; and then of course there's the genius that is Robby the Robot.
In a word: Amazing.
