Review of Forbidden Planet (1956) by Guido S — 05 Jan 2014
Leslie Nielson is a ship commander who land on a remote planet and see there is life on the planet and later find out the colony on the planet was killed off by an unknown force. There are some neat practical effects that hold up (like the footprints in the sand), then there are some that look really cheesy (there is a point where a wall is melting and you can see the person punching through to knock out the parts).
It is pretty interesting with the whole mind control part near the end. Otherwise, holds up pretty well despite the age.
