Forbidden Planet is my favorite sci-fi film and actually my favorite movie!

I actually saw the movie in the theater when I was a kid with my dad who was a sci-fi aficionado!

Gene Roddenberry actually based Star Trek on this movie: the Captain: the Doctor: the Engineer the Federation;he just expanded it into a larger scale !

They say movie is based on The Tempest: they expanded it with the meld of science snd science fiction and stellar dialogue with human philosophical and psychological overtones! They also introduced a convincing Robot (Robby the robot) with artificial intelligence probably under the direction of Isaac Asimov who was a consultant on the film!

The score for the film was magical totally different and creative and was used in other films and TV series afterwards!

The monster was the most creative in science fiction and the evil was magnificently disguised!

The Special Effects at the time were way ahead of the time and nothing was better until 2001 a Space Odyssey!

The ending was spectacular and the epilogue was even more profound!

You'll see the quote of the captain played by Leslie Nelson in the quotes for the film!

As a personal note I had studied the film done a treatment ond analysis and ended up meeting Leslie Nelson: talking about the film at length when he admitted that it was his favorite film also!

I'm sure anybody reading this page has seen Forbidden Planet but it's a must see for any science-fiction fan and someone interested in contemplating a possible future and possible consequences for humankind!
