Review of Forbidden Planet (1956) by Andrey B — 24 Jan 2018
It is a sobering look at human folly of becoming a super-being denying his natural origin. One of the best sci-fi movies, hands down, a landmark. It oozes originality and wisdom, philosophizing on such important topics as whether it is wise to accumulate the knowledge of the centuries, however ridiculous it may sound, for it easily may become a weapon in the hands of an evil one.
In its extreme the knowledge may have a different influence on a human, it may obscure human mind so that people start to act as though they are above nature. The young Leslie Nielsen was a surprise for me, a pleasant one.
