Review of Forbidden games (2015) by Andrew S — 11 Jun 2007
Clement's stark story about two children trying to be adults during wartime France.
Amidst bombings and a family feud, Michel and Paulette's friendship blossoms as he - in a twisted way but with the innocence of a young child - helps her in dealing with death.
The film is well done with a deep, well thought out plot. The cinematography is interesting and Georges Poujouly (as Michel) and Brigitte Fossey (as Paulette) provide moving performances that go above and beyond -- especially for child actors.
This should be canonized among the great films.
