Review of For Love of the Game (1999) by Carla V — 07 Aug 2010
I own this. Very, very good. About a man's confrontation of himself, seeing the starkness of his life with only these two dying relationships to show. He has the ex-girlfriend who is leaving for London and her daughter who watches from California.
Before he has thought nothing of sacrificing everything for the sake of squeezing just a little more performance out of his pitching arm. But, this night of nights, he looks into the stands and wonders what it has all been worth.
Has he valued the right things in his life? Is it too late to turn things around and salvage a few years?
