Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Ken W — 16 Feb 2009
Even better than the first film. Lee Van Cleef is awesome, Eastwood is still great, Leone begins moving more into his hauntingly slow and tense duel scenes. Somewhere between the violent dazzle of Fistfiul of Dollars and the grandiose, epic scale of The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly, For a Few Dollars More is pure fun and also an awe-inspiring example of how perfectly controlled the cinematic form can be.
One of the truly great westerns.
