Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Kevin R — 07 Dec 2009
Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price.
Monco and Colonel Douglas Mortimer are two bounty hunters that are after a ruthless outlaw known as El Indio (The Indian). They each have their own reasons for pursuing El Indio; however, the fact that there is a $10,000 bounty on his head doesn?t. Further sweetening the pot is that each member of his gang is worth about $2,000. When their paths cross, bullets start flying; but in their melee, they may learn that they are better off working together than separately.
?Tell me, colonel, were you ever young??
Sergio Leone, director of Lonesome Gun; A Fistful of Dynamite; A Fistful of Dollars; Trinity is back Again; and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, delivers For a Few Dollars More. The storyline for this picture is outstanding. The characters are delivered in a meticulous and well thought-out process. The script is marvelous and the cast was brilliant. This film starred Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleeve, and Gian Maria Volonte (The Abyss).
?He?s nothing but a vicious animal.?
For a Few Dollars More has become my all time favorite western (passing Tombstone and Pale Rider). The character development in this picture was outstanding and the action scenes were breathtaking. The outcome was always in doubt and the conclusion did not disappoint. This movie is a must see and belongs in your DVD collection.
?Why pick my place to commit suicide??
Grade: A+.
