Review of First Man (2018) by Frank B — 23 Oct 2018
Apparently all you have to do these days to film a space scene is jiggle the camera while making some creaking metal noises. This film is very poorly made and tedious. The filming was irritatingly jumpy even in the non-space scenes.
I think this may have been some mistaken attempt at realism. It is just super annoying. It is hard to believe that anyone could make a film about space exploration and make it so uninteresting. I came out of this film with absolutely no sense of what motivated Neil Armstrong.
The moon looked less interesting than Kansas. Don't pay extra for IMAX.
