Review of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (2005) by Francesco M — 08 Feb 2010
I am certainly a big fan of the game itself and its great story but this movie has some flaws, and as a reviewer put it: 'There is a difference between making a good game and a good movie'. These are the reasons why it did not gave it a 100% score. Additionally, those damn synchronization studios never capture the atmosphere of such movies and at least my version had serious trouble with catching the sound if at all... (I don't wanna kill your interest in the movie with saying what the flaws are, so I leave this open to your interpretation).
Nevertheless, my recommendation goes out to everyone interested in great, profound stories, has a certain attitude towards Japan's Mangas (or at least no aversion) and those who go along with the statement that not only PiXaR makes good animation movies. No recommendation regarding a certain topic or genre? Well, it would be fairly too simple to say that this is just a fantasy movie because there is much more to the story. So I just say watch it yourself!
