Even though I couldn't pick a favorite film out of the many I adore, if forced I would more than likely choose this one. It is delightful and touching on every level. Reading some reviews on here is baffling.
It never ceases to amaze me that a master artist can pour his heart and soul into a something (a true masterpiece) and people can still find something to complain about or think is less sufficient. But, alas that is 'opinion' I suppose.
