Review of Everyone Says I Love You (1996) by Mike H — 31 Jul 2007
Probably the only musical I would ever consider giving 5 stars. Exquisite stuff from Allen's second funny phase - a highlight of his 1990s collection. The singing is terrible, but it was always meant to be, and it just adds to the charm of the piece.
The final dance routine is just sublime, and that alone I could watch over and over again. The writing is as sharp as any of Woody's more conventional films. "I haven't been on a treadmill in weeks.
572 weeks, that's 11 years!".
