Review of Everyone Says I Love You (1996) by Oliver G — 19 Mar 2012
Woody does musical!
In his own way though. He assembled a cast of actors who are not particularly known for their singin and let them sing - and dance.
The cast is amazing by the way, with actors like Edward Norton, Natalie Portman and Drew Barrymore Allen assembled a group of youngsters who would become some of Hollywood's biggest stars.
Especially Drew Barrymore shines in her role and this is certainly the best performance I've seen from her.
Also very good, Woody himself (as always) and Goldie Hawn.
There's ONE big problem though. I hate musicals - and not even Woody's fine characters and his almost absurd depiction of this upper class NY family makes it anything different.
In the end, there's just too much singing. Satirical musical - but musical after all.
