Review of Everyone Says I Love You (1996) by Gabzy G — 18 Jan 2012
Woody Allen's upbeat musical with a wonderful cast. A bunch of love stories and petty problems with a focus on the neurotic ex-husband (Woody Allen) who visits his daughter, she helps him win a heart of another neurotic (Julia Roberts).
The two have a romance, but soon break up without much regret, since both realise that their love had been fake. Woody is consoled by his former wife. The songs aren't noteworthy, the word 'style' doesn't quite apply to the movie in general (at one time you enjoy scenes of Venice, and 5 minutes later specters dance in a NY flat), still, it can be considered, Woody Allen's intricate dialogues and funny situations (like the episode of proposal in the restaurant when the 8 thousand dollar worth engagement ring dipped in the cake gets swallowed) save the film from becoming a disaser.
