Review of Event Horizon (1997) by Yudi J — 29 May 2011
Paul W.S. Anderson knows how to use special effects, and shoots content with a certain amount of efficiency, but what starts out with an intriguing premise, soon descends into lunacy and the ridiculous.
'Event Horizon' steals from nearly every other movie and genre imaginable, to which it becomes devoid of any original artistic vision or notions. It goes a bit '2001', then a bit 'Solaris', then a bit 'Alien' (there are clear set designs, and lighting even, that have been ripped off), then a bit 'Demon Seed'.
. I could go on, even to comment on stolen scares from other bad horror movies, but it's just plain disappointing.
