Review of Encounters at the End of the World (2007) by Elizabeth W — 01 Oct 2008
A documentary about a species called homo sapien that at times can be found living temporarily amongst seals and penguins and great tundras with gaping holes in the earth's skin. In the silences between moments and the awkward smiles left in the trail of a little joke we get to see a portrait of humans at the rim of our world.
Only Herzog could paint such a sad yet uplifting portrait of his favorite animal.
