Review of Encounters at the End of the World (2007) by Richard F — 13 Feb 2009
I wanted to like this. I like documentaries. I like Werner Herzog. I didn't really connect with 'Encounters At The End of The World' though. The doc focuses on Antarctica and the quirky scientists who have set up camp there.
I respect the footage that was shot and there are certainly some characters who Herzog was able to get in front of the camera, but I was never really pulled in like I was when he documented 'Grizzly Man'.
This is worth a watch, I'm just not sure that I would go back and revisit it again.
