Herzog is one of a kind when it comes to film. Few see and understand the world the way he does, and few appreciate the quirks of life more then him. For "Encounters at the End of the World", Herzog makes his longest journey yet to the cold, icy continent of Antarctica.

For most, this trip would be either a journey to save the polar bear or a trip to examine the effects of global warming. While he does do so here and there, his fascination quickly turns to the small, but unique community that has moved down to study and explore the final frontier.

Herzog encounters some of the most fascinating people on our Earth and attempts to gain an understanding of their chosen lifestyles. While he wanders through the community, he often stops to take magnificent shots of Antarctica, capturing some familiar faces while introducing us to some incredibly exotic and extraterrestrial new ones.

"Encounters at the End of the World" is a film for everyone, from the quirky inhabitants to the breathtaking and untouched landscape, there is something for everyone to grab and enjoy here.
