Review of Encounters at the End of the World (2007) by Andy S — 03 Apr 2012
Many people could go to the South Pole and come back with a solid documentary because it is an intrinsically interesting place. Herzog, however, comes back with a truly fascinating, multi-dimensional story that reflects his own forceful drive for discovery -- a drive for discovery that the audience will be inspired to want to find in themselves.
The subjects he finds, the questions he asks, and the responses his subjects allow him to capture are all part of what makes this documentary so uniquely eye-opening and inspirational.
