Review of El Topo (1970) by Jonathan B — 13 Feb 2008
More experimental surrealism from Jodorowsky. While not as instantly bizarre as Holy Mountain it does end up just as insane. There's something unsettling about seeing a man with no legs strapped to the back of a man with no arms, and them functioning as a single person.
It's little details like this that Jodorowsky does so well. Probably not for eveyone, but worth a look if you're feeling brave.
