Review of Easy Rider (1969) by Simon D — 18 Nov 2012
I think I was the one who was tripping the first time I saw this film as I didn't rate it and put it down as a freaky aciddy mess. I am glad I've rewatched it as I think I must have turned it off at the graveyard scene, I didn't remember much else of this at all.
It's actually a pretty cool film which could have paved the way for the many road movies to come afterwards. Instead of being about drugs, as I thought, it's about the struggles of being a hippy, and more deeply rooted, the jealous reaction to real freedom, as Jack so nicely put it.
