Review of Easter Parade (1948) by Jeffrey P — 04 Aug 2012
Nadine Hale (Ann Miller) leaves her dancing partner Don Hewes (Fred Astaire) to star in a show of her own. Don wants revenge, so he decides to show that he can train anyone to be his partner. Fortunately for us, he picks chorus girl Hannah Brown (Judy Garland).
Don is in love with Nadine, but it doesn't take long for things to get complicated. It's a pretty straightforward plot, but naturally Astaire, Berlin & Co. take it all to a whole other level.
Extra kudos to Jules Munshin, who takes one scene and makes it into a one-man show.
