Review of Easter Parade (1948) by Gavin S — 08 Aug 2012
Fred Astaire always was one stylish dude. Also fun to see Rat Packer Peter Lawford. I'm no Garland fan, but this was fine, as she wasn't the entire focal point and hadn't turned into a nutcase in real life yet.
Irving Berlin tunes are great, and I'm perplexed as to how I seemed to know some of them, yet I don't recall how or why. Particularly great was Astaire's opening number with the drums in the toy shop.
A fun, lighthearted musical, and anything with Fred Astaire is going to be good. Give it a try sometime.
