Review of Earth (1999) by Graham S — 09 Aug 2008
Since this is a portrayal of the Indian Partition it came as no surprise that it was a rather depressing film. However, that should not discourage people from watching what is an effective piece of historically based cinema.
It is both moving and beautifully shot and, by showing the story through the eyes of a young Parsi girl, it offers a unique and easily accessible way to gain an insight into what is one of the most horrific episodes in 20th Century history.
