If it held my attention better I wouldn't have minded the length, but that's not the case. They also took a risk hiring a child actor to be playing the role for the next 12 years, because there's always the possibility of him turning out to be a bad actor, and that's exactly what happened.
There were a bunch of scenes that were hard to watch with how awkward he delivered the lines.
