Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Bruce B — 28 Jan 2018
A master class in special effects, direction, and editing, Dunkirk offers one of the most immersive experiences of the year that can be best described as an attack on the senses. While the visuals are some of the best in recent years, the narrative falters as a result including an overly complicated structure that hurts the film more than anything.
The performances all serve the film well although none stad out amidst the visual splendor that is Dunkirk. Masterfully helmed, Dunkirk is a film that must be seen on the big screen and is one of Nolans finest technical works.
8.0/10.
