Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Kirollos N — 17 Nov 2018
Good film. Grim, but moving. I understand some of the criticism but kind of liked the way the director chose to do the film as a series of vignettes as opposed to a conventional story arc or character piece.
My only gripe would be the timing, where Tom Hardy runs out of fuel, still manages to shoot down another bomber, and by the time he lands the beaches are empty and it's dark! Never showing the Germans, instead choosing just to have them as a faceless threat was an interesting move.
