Not Van Sant?s best movie, that honor goes to the great Finding Forrester, but this being an early work by him shows much promise of great things to come. Now the overall style seemed to be a bit cheese filled and I didn?t like the police characters, but each scene was filled with promise or dread or hopelessness or excitement.
And that is what makes this such a pleasure to watch.
