Vastly mysterious and full of symbolism, Dreams are masterly compiled short stories by one truly great director, Kurosawa. It starts with incredibly colorful and a bit scary sequence of surreal dance in the woods and moves to more darker themes of famine, war, sense of guilt, world pollution and death, ending up with another beautiful imagery of some fairytalish Japanese village where everybody lives in harmony with nature, enjoying simple things that it offers to them.

Incredible cinematography, wonderful shots and introspectiveness of this film makes it so important to me.
