Review of Double Indemnity (1944) by Stephen E — 08 Dec 2012
Undoubtedly, "Double Indemnity" is one of the most influential films in all of cinema, so credit must be given where credit is due, but aside from being a landmark in the film noir genre, it's also a respectable work of master-class writing, directing and acting, and although its plot twists may seem predictable in today's time, there are some genuine and unexpected thrills.
Fred MacMurray's performance is just as iconic as Barbara Stanwyck's femme fatale, and the whole film is just full of style.
