Review of Double Indemnity (1944) by Marc R — 04 Feb 2016
A dark and twisting noir that revels in the darkest aspects of human nature. Wilder spins his tale with typical efficiency and nuance, benefiting greatly from brilliant performances from MacMurray, Stanwyck, and Robinson and richly evocative cinematography and dialogue.
One of the definitive examples of the sub-genre and one of Wilder's sparkling gems.
