As long as there's been film, the schlock of the previous generation has been re-purposed into actual "art". Westerns, crime, horror, and, with Dope, perhaps "teen-age farce"? With a wink toward movies like "Risky Business" and "Ferris Bueller", this film takes us to downtown LA, and the lives of three bright, inner city kids.
This isn't your father's "Ferris", however. Nothing squeaky clean here, though, this is the hood.
