Review of Dope (2015) by Katy C — 27 Apr 2017
"Dope" is a really good movie, because they don't incorporate the stereotypical message that are normally found in this type of movie. Malcolm a straight A student becomes involved with the wrong crowd accidentally, along with his closest friends.
During one night they incidentally end up with drugs. Which makes them work together and deal with dealers and threats. To overcome their adversity they will have to do things they never imagine they'd be forced to do.
Throughout the whole movie the viewer gets a chance to experience actual people's lives. The message of the film incorporates how no matter what others expect of you because of your race/ethnicity doesn't mean that you are that way.
Many people will prove others wrong when it comes to them believing certain things. We, the minority, have the willpower to be just as impressive as the most fortunate.
