Review of Don't Bother to Knock (1961) by An T — 09 Sep 2007
If any skilled dramatic actress would have been more at ease with this role, Marilyn's portrayal gets a unique vibration as she fuels it with very personal elements. The result is more than convincing and moving.
Her performance completely stands out compared to the more 'conventional' acting of Richard Widmark or Anne Bancroft - although they had to deal with underwritten roles. A gem in Monroe's lesser known filmography.
