Review of Donnie Darko (2001) by Keegan D — 28 Nov 2013
Donnie Darko serves as a mind-blowing trippy smart flick that needs to be noticeable in the media because this is a movie worth seeing. the idea that setting the film around Donnie`s point of view of the world ending is very interesting to watch.
Everything that goes in Donnie`s head suddenly affects him in the real world; like the atmosphere of what the character is seeing and what will he do to put the pieces together ahead of him. Now I know this method has been used countless times in the media, but the way this film does it is perfect.
The humor movements that weren't humor movements were still funny to watch, like how Donnie outsmarted Kitty Farmer and Jim Cunningham were probably the most hilarious moments to watch. While I watching this film, I found atone of famous actors and actresses that I didn't recognize while watching like Seth Rogen, Maggie Gyllenhaal,Daveigh Chase, Jerry Trainor and Ashley Tisdale ( Who I didn't see) were all minor or major characters.
After watching Donnie Darko made me realize that this is a masterpiece. It might be underrated, but its still a mind blowing flick. Thank you Jacob Desciak for showing me this movie, it means alot to put this on my top favorite movies of all time.
