Not since American Werewolf has there been a truly fun werewolf movie with a solid plot, black humor and a flare for the grim. Wisely they chose to avoid a transformation scene (AWiL has yet to be bettered in that respect) and knowing their limitations still created a highly effective movie.
It's something when a film does so much with a small budget, using characters and situation to fill the void lesser films fill with obvious padding.
