Review of Do the Right Thing (1997) by Jiana W — 10 Jun 2012
One of my favorite movies ever. Deals with the urban racial tension of the 90's better then any movie of it's time. The only flaw of the movie is that Spike Lee casts himself in the primary role of the film when he clearly doesn't have the acting chops.
That may be a large enough flaw to not make this worthy of a 5 star film but sometimes a movie has that certain intangible factor that puts it over the top and is so impactful, that it doesn't matter.
