I hate the Dixie Chicks, fortunately this documentary does not focus on their crappy music. An interesting look at the state of American politics circa 2003 (not too long ago, but in some ways, another era), the turbulent business of the music industry, and creativity in the face of controversy.

It does loose its way when it periodically jumps to 2005 and delves into the girls' personal lives, which I couldn't care less about and it really slows the movie down. Though she should be respected for standing up for what she believes in, Natalie Maines is a completely obnoxious personality making every second she was on screen very unpleasant.

And unfortunately you have to hear a lot of Dixie Chicks music.
