Review of Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing (2006) by Diana B — 06 Feb 2008
I was never a huge Dixie Chicks fan but I wanted to see this movie. I'm glad I did. It is a very good documentary about the turmoil caused in the wake of a comment made by the lead singer about George Bush.
It demonstrates the absurdity of political correctness in the U.S. Media corporations and public opinion quickly try to punish and humiliate any who practice free speech. Basically in America free speech is only free when the majority agree with your comments.
That being said this is a great movie that keeps you involved to the end. It also left me realizing what a great band they are and I should check out more of their music.
