Review of Dinner at Eight (1933) by Ryan D — 09 Mar 2005
Hey All,.
I rented this movie called; "Dinner at Eight". I had it in my queue for quite a while and I'm very glad I got to watch it finally. The cast was great and writing was a head of it's time. There is some comedy and there are some dramatic moments in this film. Basically there is something for everyone. I'm a Jean Harlow fan and she does an amazing job with this film. "Dinner at Eight" is about this high society woman who is throwing a dinner party for an English high society couple. This movie takes place at the beginning of the great depression. That's a central point for three of the characters. When the English high society couple cancels out, they throw every thing off. Each character has a different path in life. This movie tells what happens to each character days before this dinner party. This movie is very entertaining. I would suggest this movie to any one. To my amazement the DVD does have some extra bonus features because a lot of old movies don't have any extra features for what ever reason. Please see what you think..
