Review of Dinner at Eight (1933) by Joel A — 07 Nov 2013
A light & fluffy High Society comedy with quite a few dramatic scenes. More or less the story of the people invite to a flash park avenue dinner & the situations that lead up to it.
I feel Jean Harlow & Billy Burke where the standouts & had a different flavour to the others.
This film is a little stagy & really drags in the middle but there are so great scenes & one liners. It's a film of the era & doesn't hold up as well as others from the early 1930's.
