It never stands out in its realm of typical action thrillers based on true events, and accordingly makes some obvious deviations from the original events in order to add dramatism to its already dramatic catastrophe.
And yet, "Deepwater Horizon" is a decent enough thanks to superb performances, Peter Berg's tense direction, dazzling visual effects, one greatly effective sense of mayhem and its message about awareness.
