Review of Deathwatch (2002) by Andrew R — 06 Jul 2007
An amazing British-made horror movie set in 1917 on the western front. The survivors of an infantry company finds themselves in a thick fog after the heavy fighting the previous night, and they stumble across a trench.
Finding only a handful of Germans, their captain decides to hold it until they can be reinforced. It is then that a series of violent deaths begin to occur during supernatural manifestations within the trench.
The soldiers begin to lose any sense of reality as they are slowly whittled away by an invisible enemy. One of the more unique movies for such a standard horror concept. I would reccommend this to fans of Lord of the Rings, as you can see the real Andy Serkis (Gollum) in an earlier Gollum-ish role.
